Results of independent metrological testing of programs for calculation of the heart rate variability parameters

3. Development of original metrology testing of  HRV-programs

In order to organize the testing process we need to have test sequences of RR-intervals and a device which allow to simulate these sequences like a native ECG signal. With such hardwar-program complex we get possibility to import RR-intervals signal with the set spectrum parameters directly to checked up devices and then to estimate quality of HRV-calculations of spectral parameters.3.1. In this project of the metrology testing idea the uses of TRRS, which are generated by the special program, which belongs to E.Palamarchuck. The program of generation of TRRS with the set gain-frequency descriptions works as follows: three frequencies and three proper powers are set in the window of interface. Then forming of proper TRRS is then started. As a result we have a saved file "export.rg". The structure of this file is simple: duration of every RR-interval is saved in a separate line. In the present variant of the program forms 512 RR-intervals with average duration of 1000 ms.

Every interested persons can do own experiments with this program and make sure in its high quality. Some commercial soft don`t have import procedures. At that situation entering of TRRS is possible only by using a special device which transformate of digital presentation of durations into signals in artificial ECG.

3.2. Hardwair-program complex of TRRS transformation into ECG signals
We developed the program and device, which allow to carry out translating of TRRS-files into ECG-signals. Program with the uses system timer of computer and COM-port forms output signals with exactness of 1ms to the peripheral microprocessor device. As a reply to every carrying signal of computer a microprocessor is starts the QRS-generator with 10 mcs discreteness. Then this signal passes through the divizor, normalizes to 3 mV with output resistance of 100 KOhm. Such signal is used as an input signal for ECG testing units. The type of the got signal is represented on a picture. As an example is shown the screen of cardiomonitor (Utas firm) UM300

Such signal allows to input without distortions TRRS into the studied devices. RR-graphics, which was got by our complex is rotined below. This is a screenshot of cardiomonitor (Utas firm) UM300:

This complex was tested by our device of getting primary information and calculation of HRV-parameters. This device includes a personal computer and the program for collection and primary analysis of RR-intervals: "Monitoring system for intensive therapy and hyperbaric oxygenation", (program MAK-3) has a quality certificate on a software product 1.08.1995 MZ of Ukraine.
According to metrology certificate of Lugansk regional scince-industry center of standardization, metrologi and certification "Testifying to state metrology attestation N P41/6-329-04, 24.12.2005" our complex is has an error of setting RR exactness less, than a 1 msec.

Metrology experiment with a few TRRS showed that the registered durations of RR-intervals exactly corresponded with the digital row of TRRS and has an exactness less than the 1 msec.
