Results of independent metrological testing of programs for calculation of the heart rate variability parameters

5.Objects of the metrology testing

Above all things the devices of the Ukrainian producers got out for testing.
The most known Ukrainian HRV diagnostic system is CardioLab+ produced in Kharkiv.

As far as it knows an author, this device is made on an enterprise with old traditions and high scientific rating which is named "HAI-medic". This monitor is supplied with a wonderful user's guide. It steadily recognizes ECG-signals during biulding ECG-curves, it possesses a number of service functions, uses a database and has a  great number of additional functions.

Program CardioSpectrum v.4.1b developed by firm Solvaig (Kyiv) (employees of institute of gerontology) and also a long ago utillized in composition with the series of devices for the HRV-analysis.

The demonstration version of this program is accessible on the site of enterprise of Solvaig http://www.solvaig.kiev.ua/soft/cs_41b.exe, (1,67 Mb)
This version of the program allows to replace a demonstration test file and thus to check up quality by algorithm of calculation HRV-parameters.
In other words we can say that this program has import function of RR-intervals.

Last years Ukrainian market got a new HRV-device for researches - UM300 (v.6.26 rev.9, firm Utas, Kyiv)This well-known in Ukraine cardiomonitor is complemented with programmatic block of HRV-analysis. The monitor UM300 has wonderful impression, as a device for control of vitally important parameters of a heavy patients. The option of calculation of HRV-parameters is oriented to the  analysis of the last 297 RR-intervals, which it is impossible to correct or save into a database (producers assert although, that optsionally is possible to connect a computer with a proper database). While researching it was found out periodic disappearing of RR-intervals, even when a monitor registers steady QRS-complex. This fact we is registered on our videotape recording. Nevertheless we succeeded after series of experiments to get a ritmogramm without falls and distortions.
During a few years we searched for a contact with the producers of UM300 it offering to a device the managers of firm Utas to contact with us for organization of metrology tests. But it was visible on everything, that it does not interest that firm..

The Russian program ORTO Science (v4.9.61 firm "The Living systems", Izhevsk) we got from Internet.This program is supplied with the import function of RR-intervals. Before we already gave a report with the results of testing this program (www tests.vkp.dsip.net./Papers/HRV_imitat04.htm). This program is compact and has an enough comfortable interface

Also authors of project tested their own programs according to indicated protocol

Commercial product CARDIO-10DX (v.12.62, Y.A.Palamarchuk, Vinnytsya), which allows to register RR-intervals and calculate basic HRV-parameters.

Program "Monitory system for intensive therapy and hyperbaric oxygenation" (program MAK-3, K.Vorobyov) has a quality certificate on a software product (1.08.1995, Ministry of Health, Ukraine).It a noncommercial product which is strictly oriented to the leadthrough of large researches. It provides the batch retrospective processing to get primary information and utillize it by us in our scientific researches more than ten years. Now this program is used to collect ECGs and to make preliminary monitor analysis of ECGs. It works with specially made ECG alarm system and has exactness of registration of RR-intervals no less than 1 msec. It is confirmed by state metrology tests and proper certificate of Lugansk regional state center of standartisation, certification and metrology.Our software for scientific researches is developing. For this research we prepared a special interface which evidently demonstrates spectral HRV-parameters.
In this program, except the main spectrum of HRV-parameters is calculated weigh spectrum array and, in particular, descriptions of peaks of spectral ranges. In other words - the digital descriptions of maximal amplitude and its frequency for every spectral range. Such program option is related to our long-term researches of HRV, which with sew points of view, have the future for quite other interpretation (undiscrete) of HRV-spectrum
